How well does Avast Antivirus work for you?

by on June 8, 2012

I have been using Avast Antivirus along with widows defender. So far Avast has caught every trojan and spyware, but I was wondering if it really is as good as they claim… Has anyone ever had any problems with Avast Antivirus?

It’s probably the best free antivirus software available.

it works big time for me but there are still a few flaws in it so i installed a few more anti viruses in my pc. that was before then i changed to NOD32 eset with superantispyware and malwarebytes.

it os not as great as a paid antivirus. I have had it before and discovered that it did not find some viruses that norton found later. So if you want a good antivirus buy norton. It is ok if you have a big enough processor and ram

I tried Avast before. But, I still prefer Avira because it does not slow down my pc and have better virus detection rate.

It’s great, I can’t believe its free. I’ve almost tried every anitivirus out there but no antivirus that made feel safe and secure than avast. I’ts light on the system, it has smart update and it protect itself from virus attacks. I never had problems with avast i just think the interface is a little bit hard to use and the design is cheesy. But overall, its a thumbsup.

I find it to be a very aggressive program.Out performs AVG combined with Threatfire by a long shot It has more features that Avira and AVG combined. The updates haven’t failed yet like many did with AVG. Avast is the better program.

Avast is a good antivirus, and I only had a few problems with it. i have been using the free version in my desktop PC for more than 3 years, and i am very satisfied with it. Now i use the Professional version on my laptop. I have use several antivirus applications, but i always go back to avast after using other software. It simply has broader shields compared to other AV’s and most importantly, it doesn’t fail or forget to update on its own.

Try Kaspersky Internet Security…

You will forget AVAST…hehehe

I used it for a while then installed AVIRA, much better.

It works great for me, but then I don’t use P2P programs or Limewire etc.
Avast is very good and free.
Avast is very light on computer memory.
Avast updates automatically twice a day.
Avast scans web pages in real time and blocks the virus in its tracks.
give them your e mail address to get the license number in your e mail.

its one of the best free antivirus softwares out there… the only thing i’ve seen is that it tends to slow down your PC quite a bit…

My only advice is not to run windows defender in the background because Avast covers everything windows defender does, and it doesnt make sense to waste system resources and run two different antivirus softwares. (unless you’re paranoid) – but a word of advice, antivirus software only protects you from malicious software, it will NOT protect you from what YOU do to your computer.

so just watch what you download and delete suspicious emails. that’s the safest way. I am actually running ONLY windows defender on all my PC’s, and nothing on my Macs

I havent had a single Virus.
